SmokeShield Elevator Operator Troubleshooting

  1. Open the alarm contact outside of the coil so the door drops.
  2. When the door is in the closed position, remove the soffit.
  3. Power down the unit by removing the inline fuse on the blue wire coming off the transformer, and unplug the batteries from the RBBU board.
  4. When the unit is powered down, test all three fuses for continuity. The other two fuses are on the boards inside the controller. Replace the fuses if they are found bad.
  5. Plug the batteries back in, and put the inline fuse back in place to supply power to the boards.
  6. Once the boards are powered back up, make sure the M.OP and A.OP settings are on. If the led by the buttons on the board are on, the setting is on. Please note that A.OP may need to be held for 5+ seconds to turn this setting on/off.
  7. Reinstall the soffit.
  8. Close the alarm contact to have the door open. During the initial commissioning process, the door may jog at the open position until the proper torque setting is set.
